Robyn Davies (UK) takes 3rd place in Billabong Pro Costa Rica

Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica, 26 March 2001: The Billabong Pro Costa Rica Womens 1 star WQS event concluded yesterday with a great success for European and UK surfer Robyn Davies.

Davies took 1st place in her quarter finals heat, 2nd in her semi-finals heat and came 3rd in the final behind Julia Christian (USA) 1st, Lizbeth Vindez Diaz (CRica) 2nd, and ahead of Andrea Diaz (CRica) 4th. This result justly reflects the potential of this UK surfer.

The only other European participating in this womens event was Claire Karabatsos (Fr) who was eliminated in the semi finals having placed 3rd. Karabatsos placed 4th in last weeks Billabong Pro in Panama (see report). The updated WQS womens ratings after this event are available here
